MY EXPERIENCE WITH CLOTH DIAPERS: I used cloth diapers with my son almost exclusively since he was a week old (with the exception of nighttime and travel). Both my husband and I agree that it was a great diapering experience. We saved loads of money and TONS of waste all while keeping our son’s sensitive skin away from harsh chemicals in synthetic disposable diapers.
Did you know that babies can use the potty as soon as they’re born? Or that babies all around the world are out of diapers between 12 and 18 months? It’s true! With a practice known as elimination communication (EC), parents are able to learn how to read the signs and signals from their babies, even newborns, and help them use the potty instead of a diaper as their main toilet.
EC is NOT potty training. We do not train babies to use the toilet. We simply offer them a potty when we think they need to go or when they sign to us that they need to go and THEY decide if they use it or not. Spoiler Alert - They will! There is no pressure, no expectations, no training, no rewards, no punishments, no consequences, and none of the elements of conventional potty training.
Join me for a 1:1 EC consult to learn all about elimination communication and how to get started if it feels like a good fit for your family. These consults are perfect for expecting parents who want to set themselves up to EC soon after baby arrives, as well as parents of babies up to age two.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH EC: I used EC with my son beginning when he was 3 weeks old. With no expectations, no pressure, and no potty training my husband and I continued to offer a potty to my son whenever we thought he needed to go pee or poop or when he signed to us that he needed to go. He was out of daytime diapers just after his first birthdate (with the exception of naps, nighttime, and car rides). He was completely diaper free by age 2 (with occasional nighttime diapers).
