2026 update

I am on hiatus from attending births in-person for the remainder of 2026. However, I do have some pretty awesome pregnancy & birth prep doula education services available!

2026 Services

  • The #1 thing I’ve learned as a birth doula and someone who has given birth herself is that it’s what we do BEFORE going into labor that sets us up for the smoothest birth experience. While having 1:1 doula support during your actual labor is such a wonderful thing, so much of our birth story relates back to how we moved our bodies in the weeks & months BEFORE giving birth.

In my Prenatal Birth Prep Offering, I will teach you KEY movements, stretches, & body balancing positions to support optimal positioning of baby in the womb prior to, and during, labor.

We explore techniques from Spinning Babies, to prenatal yoga, to simple daily needs like walking, hydration, & the Rest Smart position.

Prenatal Birth Prep is offered as a private class in your home (if within 40 minutes of Essex, VT) or virtually via Zoom.

    Cost - $250 for a 2 hour session

  • When attending births live in-person, labor positioning is a hugeeee part of what I’m doing with clients. But, did you know, that you don’t need a doula with you to know what positions to take during labor?!

It’s true! Anyone can learn the main positions that we work with during labor, when to use each position, and how to use props (pillows, blankets, balls, etc) to make them more comfortable and effective.

In my Labor Positions offering, I will teach you & your partner my go-to labor positions with a strong focus on supporting an optimal position for baby, increased engagement and descent in the pelvis (aka no labor stall!), and greater ease for you. You’ll learn when to use each position for maximum relief and maximum efficacy during labor. I will also show your partner/support person how to assist you in getting in and out of each position.

Labor Positions is offered as a private 1:1 session in your home (if located within 40 minutes of Essex, VT) or virtually via Zoom.

    Cost- $250 for a 2 hour session

  • This is the offering for the mama-to-be who wants all of the above PLUS on-demand voice, text, & video support from a highly skilled birth doula (that’s me!) throughout her pregnancy every step of the way.

With this option, you always have me in your back pocket. I’m here to answer all your questions, give you access to all the resources, help tailor your prenatal birth prep and labor positions prep to your needs, and more.

With this option I DO NOT attend your birth live. I will, however, remain on-call for you via text, call, and video chat during your entire labor, birth, and immediate postpartum hours.

Personalized Virtual Birth Doula Support is designed to be whatever you need, whenever you need it - not just real-time labor & birth support.

Personalized Virtual Birth Doula Support - each package is personalized to meet your unique needs.

Cost - $500 to $1,000 (depending on need for on-call support during entirety of labor)

Birth Doula FAQs

  • A birth doula is a trained professional who offers continuous emotional and physical support through late pregnancy, all of labor & childbirth, and the early postpartum period. Most notably, she offers 24/7 on-call support in late pregnancy PLUS continuous ongoing support during labor and birth. We do not leave your side once labor starts (except to pee & eat, you get it.).

  • That is up to you, though it is helpful to know that doulas are the only member of your labor and birth team who will be offering continuous support (aka not leaving your side). OBs, midwives, and nurses will be in and out of the room frequently as they will be splitting their time amongst other people in labor at the same time as you. OBs, midwives, and nurses also offer very little, if any, emotional support during labor and unless trained in unmedicated pain management may not be able to offer the wide-range of natural pain management strategies that a doula can (labor positions, massage, breath support, hands-on relief, hydrotherapy, and more).

The research also shows that birth doula support contributes to shorter labors, reduced need for interventions like labor augmentation with pitocin and the use of forceps, lower the rates of c-sections, and lower rates of pain medication use (like epidurals). So, if these are aspects of birth that are important to you hiring a doula may be more important than you even realized!

  • YES! As your birth doula, I would also offer emotional support to your partner/spouse as well if they are present at the birth. I will provide them with suggestions for laboring positions they could do with you, supporting breath techniques, massage & hands-on practices they can provide for you, and more. I will also remind them to stay nourished, hydrated, & rested during labor just like you!

  • I will always have a back-up doula on-call in the rare event that I am sick or physically unable to attend a birth. Back-up doulas will be informed of your birth wishes, birth plan, and any other important information you have shared with me.
